Orange Juice and Trips to the Seaside

I've had Skint&Demoralised in my head all day long, it's made me very cheerful. Today has been fairly uneventful, monotonous but in a good way. Also I've been getting to know "certain" people a little better and the more time I spend with them the more I like them and the more we laugh.
What was eventful about today? My mum shouting that Alexander McQueen has died, 'cos she'd heard it on the radio. I'ts sad isn't it? I'm sure he had so much more to give, his creations were always fabulous, extroadinary and full of energy .

The Horses Are Coming So You Better Run

My Cath Kidston parcel came through today, very exciting! I ordered my friend's birthday present as she is a big fan and then after having a quick trawl through the sale items - impulsively chose a bag for myself. The pattern is gorgeous (in the picture it's on the top left) although the bag itself is not as heavy-duty as I'd have liked it to be, my bags need to be tough because I seem to carry the world around with me.

I've been listening to a fair bit of Florence - I love her (and those beautiful videos.)

I Waited Up For You, Couldn't You Come Back Home?

Ever since I was very young I have had an obsession with the Mitford sisters. Born in the early 1900's, all six have a fascinatingly different story to tell. Throughout their eventful lives high society glamour was intertwined with politics, Nazism, love affairs, elopement, marriage and divorce. Since September I have been working on an art project based around their different lives and identities and then today I bought this month's UK Tatler which had a fabulous interview with the youngest sister, Debo, Duchess of Devonshire, the only one still living in. It was a great suprise to learn they are becoming more well-known and I seriously reccomend googling them if you have an interest in history, fashion and literature. These are some of my favourite photographs of them.
